Our captain

Santiago Javier Aldrey

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Captain Santiago has spent more than 15 years guiding anglers across these lagoons. He's USCG licensed with first aid and CPR training — and he fishes to win.

His trophy shelf: four Nico Guzmán Cups at Cangrejos Yacht Club tarpon tournaments, a 12-hour shootout title, and multiple PRLTA inshore tournament wins. When you're chasing the fish of a lifetime, he's your best shot at landing it.

A vital estuary in northeastern Puerto Rico, ringed by mangrove forest and teeming with life — snook and tarpon in the brackish shallows, herons and roseate spoonbills overhead, manatees drifting past the boat. Together with the neighboring Torrecillas lagoon, it ranks among the top five backwater fisheries in the world for this kind of fishing.
